Chambered Nautilus Design 1.0

Here’s the Nautilus with a Fibonacci overlay so that I could scale the Sculpture.

Update:  I decided to make the shell 3 feet!  She’s gonna be big!

Here’s a Screenshot of my calculations.

  1. Using photoshop and the measure tool,  I made some measurements from the center of the fibonacci spiral to the edges.
  2. It was challenging because I had to decide how to measure the diameters of the shell.
  3. Artist Note:  it’s in two dimensions and I’ll have to stretch the metal to make the curves,  i still need the scale but I didn’t account for the width of the curves, just viewable dimensions.  So in the end she may still end up  2.5 feet in total diameter.
  4. I also measured the head and one of the long tentacles. Those tentacles are going to be about 18 inches!
